Powers of the Earth by Travis JI Corcoran | **** | A self-published book by (in his own description) a Catholic anarcho-capitalist. Think "Atlas Shrugged," but in space. With guns. And an AI of uncertain morality growing nearer omnipotence by the day. Oh, and genetically modified talking dogs. The book pulls no punches regarding the author's political leanings, which readers may or may not find tasteful depending on their own political philosophy. Regardless, this first book in the Aristillus series makes interesting points, raises critical questions, and is simply an all-around well-told tale.
